What for a wonderful surprise! Today a parcel arrived with six bottles of excellent Sardinian wines. Traci Primm-De Santis is wine manager of Cantina Trexenta (www.cantinatrexenta.it) in Senorbi, Sardinia, Italy. I met her at a party during my stay at the island in summer. We talked about wines and she promised me some. I forgot about and now – with these goodies – coming all the nice memories back.
Thanks so much, Traci!
I will introduce the wines to the blog readers!
Antigu – Isola dei Nuraghi
Red ruby colour, tending to granetish, is elated by its delightful fragrance that recalls aromatic notes of woodland fruits. Harmonious and winy with a pleasant, soft and full bodied taste, delicious to palate.
Grapes 50% Cannnonau and 50% Carignano, 18 months in French oak barrels and refinement for six months in bottle before selling give as a result the elegant Antigu, “barricato” red wine, 13,5%.
Bingias – Monica di Sardegna DOC
The brilliant red ruby colour honours his intense fragrance rich in aroma, harmonious with savoury, dry and pleasant taste and persistent aftertaste.
Only native grapes, 85% Monica and 15% authorised red berry grapes. Three months in oak barrels, one month in bottle, 13%.
Baione – Cannonau di Sardegna DOC
Red ruby colour, harmonious in taste and aroma, with characteristic features of Cannonau that are glorified in palate where you can taste the dry, savoury, warm and persistent flavour. Native grapes 90% Cannonau, 10% authorised red berry grapes, ageing for one year in oak barrels with six months in bottle as refinement, 13,5%.
Cheers!

Nice report!
