Fashion types really love the word „Muse“. It must be written somewhere that any serious designer and/or artist must have one of them, but more often a „Muse“ is a woman who simply calls to mind a designer’s preexisting aesthetic. These days, she’s more likely to be an ideal customer (or a branding opportunity) rather than a font of inspiration.
When I was very young I was the muse of an artist. He was a painter and much older than me. I was fascinated by him. He painted me often and we travelled together to many places, most of the time to the Mediterranean countries. Together we had a crazy life, full of adventures and arty people. It was also him who inspired me to become what I am now: An art lover. I loved him. He was a fascinating man at this time. Everybody loved him, especially the women!
I am still in touch with him. I do not love him anymore, but I appreciate his friendship. We see each other from time to time. Not often. And we do talk about the past. It is always kind of a Déjà-vu experience. He was the one who opened me the world into the arts. He is old now, but the fascination for him remains. For ever.
