Frauchen hat einen Pflegehund: Lino! Ich kann es kaum glauben. Zugegeben, ich bin schon etwas eifersüchtig. Zumal ich von hier oben nur runtergucken kann. Hmmmm! Und er liegt auch schon in meinem Hundebett. Na, das kann ja noch heiter werden. Zum Glück spielt er nicht mit meinen Plüschtieren. Denn die gehören immer noch mir. Das weiß auch Frauchen! Aber ich wünsche dem kleinen Kerl auf alle Fälle viel Glück. Ich bin ja nicht so.

Na, wie war’s? Es ist ja noch nicht ganz rum! Heute haben wir Ostermontag, also noch genügend Zeit, Euch allen, den Leserinnen und Lesern von sl4lifestyle, ein glückliches und gesundes Osterfest zu wünschen. Wart Ihr schon mal zufrieden mit dem Verlauf?
Habt Ihr Euch über Geschenke gefreut oder über das Beisammensein mit der Familie? Auf spirituelle Momente oder einfach aufs Ausschlafen? Ich habe seit ein paar Tagen einen Pflegehund, mit dem ich die freien Tage doch sehr intensiv verbracht habe. Das hat er aber auch gebraucht, nachdem er noch ganz frisch bei mir ist. Morgen werde ich ihn Euch hier vorstellen. Er heißt Lino, soviel verrate ich Euch schon mal!
Diese Hasenfamilie habe ich am Ortseingang von Rimpar, einem fränkischen Dorf ganz in der Nähe von Würzburg, fotografiert. Ich fand die Truppe einfach klasse. Alle Figuren sind fast lebensgroß und handgearbeitet. Das als kleiner Hingucker für Euch, bevor es in die neue Arbeitswoche geht.

1. Christchurch
I know Christchurch before and after the devastating earthquakes. The old and famous cathedral got completely destroyed. The modern Cardboard Church, created by the Japanese disaster architect Shigeru Ban is worth a visit. Indeed, it is fascinating. Christchurch today is a vibrant city in transition with one of the best art scenes in the country. You will love this city.
2. Dunedin
This city reminds you of Scotland. It is also called „The Edinburgh of the South“. It is proud of its Scottish heritage and the name Dunedin is derived from the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh: Dun Eideann. The first permanent European settlers, hard working Scots, arrived at today’s suburb Port Chalmers in 1848. Here is the country’s oldest university with lots of students. It is also a great place for exploring the wildlife-rich Otago Peninsula, which officially lies within the city limits.
3. Moeraki
There is a large collection of spherical boulders scattered along a beautiful stretch of beach like a giant kid’s discarded marbles. The famous Moeraki Boulders (in Maori language: Te Kaihinaki) lie just off the Highway SH1. Local Maori legends explained the boulders as the remains of eel baskets, calabashes and kumara washed ashore from the wreck of Arai-te-uru, a large sailing canoe. Try to time your visit with low tide.
4. Oamaru
For me, this town is unique. I loved to stroll around. There are so many Victorian buildings especially on Thames Street with antiquarians and bohemians who run offbeat galleries, hip venues and interesting shops. What Oamaru used to be was rich and ambitious. In its 1880s heyday, Oamaru was about the size as Los Angeles was at the time. The town became wealthy enough to erect the imposing Victorian buildings. However, the town overreached itself and spent the end of the 19th century teetering on the verge of bankruptcy. Have a look and don’t forget your camera!
5. Pancake Rocks
Did you ever see piles of thick pancakes in the ocean? No? Then head for the Western Coast where a layering-weathering process called stylobedding has carved the limestones. Aim for high tide when the sea urges into caverns and booms menacingly through blowholes. You can comfortably walk around in a perfect loop to see them all.
6. Pukaki Lake/Mount Cook
Passing by car the striking turquoise-blue Pukaki Lake you will see in the far distance Mount Cook. Aoraki is the Maori name for this mountain who is situated in the National Park with the same name. Of the 23 mountains of the country over 3.000 meters, 19 are in that National Park. The highest is mighty Aoraki/Mount Cook with 3.754 meters. It is the tallest peak in Australasia. You can go on a day walk, crossing 3 swing bridges. After the second bridge the mountain totally dominates the valley, and you may see icebergs floating in Hooker Lake. You will never forget this view!
7. Queenstown
Here I did many years ago my first Bungy Jump. This place is also called „The Global Adventure Capital“. Beside its picturesque location it is the place where you can get all the adrenaline rush you want: A bungy jump, canoeing, jet boating, rafting or any of the other crazy activities. But there exists also another Queenstown: The one with cosmopolitan restaurants and art scenes, excellent vineyards and great golf courses. It depends on you! Try it out!
8. Stewart Island

9. Takaka
It is the Hippie and Yoga place of the country. Takaka lies in the small region of Golden Bay with rural charm and alternative lifestyles. From here it is easy to venture out to Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, along with other natural wonders including Farewell Spit (remember the tragedy with the stranding of hundreds of whales) and beautiful beaches.
10. The Glaciers
Don’t miss Fox- and Franz Josef-Glaciers. There are walkways to go pretty close. Both are located at the Western coastal part of the South Island. If you start early you can visit both on one day.
Recommendation: I travelled about 6.500 Kilometers around New Zealand in a car from Go Rentals. They have great rates. More Info here!
Anja Rübner bezeichnet sich selbst als Nomadin. Gelebt und gearbeitet hat sie in den USA, in Japan und in der Schweiz. Das hat der Beruf als promovierte Chemikerin und Patentanwältin mit sich gebracht.
Nun lebt und arbeitet sie in Wien und hat sich ganz nebenbei einen Traum erfüllt: Sie gibt Yogaunterricht und veranstaltet Retreats. Sozusagen aus Leidenschaft und als Ausgleich zu ihrem anstrengenden Beruf in der Pharmabranche.
Durch ihren internationalen Lifestyle hat sie auch jede Menge Freunde, die sich quer über unseren Planeten tummeln. Wie zum Beispiel Fiona Shukri, eine Amerikanerin mit Wohnsitz in Kabul, Afghanistan. Beide verbindet genau diese eine Passion, nämlich Yoga. Die beiden Frauen haben sich vor 4 Jahren während eines Yoga-Retreats kennengelernt und wurden Freundinnen. Aus dieser Symbiose entstand schließlich ihre Idee: Inspiring Flow und gemeinsame Yoga-Stunden! Ein schöner Beweis, dass nichts unmöglich ist“, sagt Anja. Fiona ist für verschiedene Nichtregierungsorgani-sationen tätig und jettet – genau wie Anja – um den Globus.
„Yoga ist dabei eine tolle Art, mal runterzukommen und sich eine Auszeit zu nehmen“, ergänzt sie. Dabei orientiert sie sich an den Erfahrungen von Fiona, die schon seit Jahren Yoga-Lehrerin ist.
Anjas Leidenschaft gehört dem Yinyassa Yoga; eine Yin Yoga-Ausbildung absolviert sie gerade. Sport ist eh die Leidenschaft der gebürtigen Bremerin. Früher war es Kunstturnen, später Gewichte-Training, dann schwimmen und laufen. Und jetzt geht sie ab und an zum Tauchen. Vor 8 Jahren besuchte sie erstmals Kurse in Yoga. „Wow, das war es. Damals während eines Retreats in Nordspanien fing alles an“, schwärmt die 51-Jährige. „Da habe ich Feuer gefangen.“ Jetzt brauche sie einfach auch den mentalen Ausgleich durch Yoga. Denn die indische Philosophie hilft ihr auch im Job, nach Lösungsansätzen zu suchen, abzuschalten und auch mal loszulassen. „In stressigen Situationen kann Yoga durchaus mein Leben ordnen.“
Ihr erstes gemeinsames Retreat halten Anja und Fiona nun vom 3. bis 10. Juni in der Toskana. Nicht zu kurz kommen wird die regionale Küche, denn lukullisch soll es auch werden. Unbedingt!

Ich kenne Inès de la Fressange noch als Model aus den 1980ern. Sie hatte damals regelmäßige Gastauftritte in der VOGUE und der Elle. Ihr Stil hat mir gut gefallen. It is the end of the world. Definitely. And it is beautiful. I felt in love with this remote place at the Southern end of New Zealand’s South Island. Being there is a special experience for everybody. It is a glimpse into a simpler, slower lifestyle, in rhythm with the sea and the tides, attuned to the natural world of bush and beach. The ferry crossing from Bluff to Halfmoon Bay takes about one hour and can be really rough. We stayed in the friendly Hilltop Backpacker’s (Owner Gary picks you up by car from the ferry). From the hostel which is located on a hill you have a fantastic view.
In 2002 the very qualities that make this island a great place to treasure were recognized in the formation of the Rakiura National Park, comprising 85 percent of the island’s 1.570 square kilometres. The locals value the island’s special qualities: Its clear, clean waters, the lush rainforest, sweeping sands, flora and fauna and the unspoiled natural beauty. There you can enjoy the land and seascapes, the wildlife, go for lots of interesting walks, you can boat, fish, dive, kayak or just relax. Visit doggie Lola at the Bunkhouse Theatre and enjoy a drink at the Bar of the iconic South Sea Hotel right on the waterfront.
The Maori name of Stewart Island is Rakiura. Early in the 19th century explorers, sealers, missionaries, miners and settlers from all corners of the world made their mark on the island. Marriage with local Maori women created strong family and cultural links to Rakiura.
Sawmillers, boat builders and fishermen followed. The island’s population grew, stabilised and settled, mainly around the edges of Paterson Inlet and the heads of Halfmoon and Horseshoe Bays, and in short-lived ventures at Port William, Port Pegasus and Maori Beach.
In the 1920’s new arrivals came from Norway as part of the Rosshavet whaling enterprise. Those who chose to stay permanently added another thread to the interesting tapestry of nationalities living on Stewart Island.
Today the island has a population of 400 people. Fishing, aquaculture, tourism and conservation are their main pursuits. This affirms the natural attributes of the island’s qualities which first attracted Maori and Europeans to its shores.

Ich habe nicht mehr daran geglaubt. Jetzt sind sie endlich eingetroffen. Meine Fiji-Postkarten, die ich vor über einem Monat in der Südsee aufgegeben habe. Immer mehr WhatsApp und Mails von den glücklichen Adressaten treffen ein. Unglaublich, wie viel Freude man mit dem Verschicken von Postkarte bereiten kann. Nicht jedem, das ist klar. Doch ich kenne ein paar eingefleischte Sammlerinnen und Sammler, die ich auf meiner Postkarten-To-Do-Liste habe. Und immer bekomme ich begeisterte Rückmeldungen.
Ich mache das gerne, denn ich bereite Menschen eine Freude. Und manchmal ist es so einfach, das zu tun. Das ist es mir wert in diesem hektischen und schnellen Leben. Oft kenne ich die Personen nicht mal persönlich, dafür aber ihre Hobbys, Passionen und Leidenschaften. Das Leben kann so einfach sein.
Klar, Postkarten und Briefmarken kosten Geld. Manchmal nicht wenig. Zum Beispiel in Neuseeland. Da ist man pro frankierter Karte gut und gern schon mal bei umgerechnet 2,30 Euro. Aber das ist mir nicht wichtig. Was zählt ist die Freude, die ich damit auslöse.
Übrigens, ich selbst bin keine Postkarten-Sammlerin. So ist mir die Gegenseitigkeit dabei auch nicht wichtig. Ab und an werde ich von den „Beschenkten“ auf einen Kaffee eingeladen oder der Gutschein eines Lieblingsshops flattert mir ins Haus. Ein schönes Gefühl, dieses Menschsein, diese Nächstenliebe, auch wenn das vielleicht altmodisch klingt. Aber mir ist es jede Postkarte wert, die ich schrieb oder noch schreiben werde.
Denkt dran, dass es eigentlich ganz einfach ist, Freude zu geben und zu empfangen. Es geht doch nur darum, auf Kleinigkeiten zu achten, denn genau diese winzigen Dinge sind es, die dann ganz schnell zu einem großen Ganzen werden können.
In diesem Sinne wünsche ich Euch einen schönen und inspirierenden Frühling.
