I like the fashion of Giorgio Armani for a long time. This classical modest look I can also adapt for my outfits. Last year he had his 80. birthday.

Now many years later I was in Milan. Just at the same day he opened his new museum, called Armani/Silos, with a fancy show and retrospective of his work.It was also the evening of Hollywood stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett and Sophia Loren. Most of them stayed at the Armani Hotel Milano. There it happened that I saw Glenn Close and Tina Turner with her German husband.

Back to October 10, 1974 when Armani presented his first official 30-piece women collection at the small and popular restaurant Carminati in Piazza del Duomo in front of the famous cathedral. The event was already announced in Italian VOGUE in September 1974 as his first runway show. I was looking for that place: Today it hosts a McDonald’s.
