Most of you already know that I bought a castle in South France. For just 1 Euro. It was a real bargain. Let me introduce a bit of history to you.
Once it was called Comtal Chateau. A last line of defence, the Chateau was built in the XII Century by the Trencavel family, Viscounts of Carcassonne, and was constantly altered throughout the following centuries. In the XIII Century the construction of the inner section was carried out in order to fortify the building. This ring of fortifications includes a curtain wall, circular towers, a small castle at the entrance, a barbican and a trench. The interior wall includes parts of the Gallo-Roman ramparts (III-IV Century) characterised by their small openings surmounted by brickwork stringcourses.
Just walk with me around and I show you more of it.
Hello Gaston. That is a very good picture of you. I can see your stripe on your back. That looks a little like a Ridgeback. Your strong tail and your good shaped body. Congratulations to your new castle. Love Odie
Wow, what compliment! Thanks!
You are most welcome ;-))
