Was ist aus den gestohlenen Hunden von Dubrovnik geworden? Hat der Protest in Zagreb am 30. Dezember 2015 etwas bewirkt? Hier die letzten Neuigkeiten.

Anzahl der gestohlenen Hunde, die in Tötungsstationen gebracht und die, die von dort wieder herausgegeben wurden:

• 18 Hunde in Animalis Centrum-Kaštela (Split), davon wurden 13 ausgegeben und 5 behalten unter der Angabe, dass man sie impfen wolle.
• 7 Hunde in A.N.D.A.R. Medulin, zwei wurden herausgegeben, da sie vermittelt wurden.
• 25 Hunde in As-Eko Šibenik. Alle wurden zurückgegeben.
• 15 Hunde in Veterinarska stanica Pakrac. Alle wurden zurückgegeben. Einer davon wurde vermittelt.
• 10 Hunde befinden sich noch immer in Tötungsstationen.

„Die Herausgabe in Medulin wird noch dauern. Wir sind nicht sicher, ob die Stadt die Kosten übernehmen wird. Wenn nicht, werden wir das stemmen müssen. Aber wir werden kämpfen!“

Die 5 Tiere in Kastela sollen angeblich nach 10 Tagen freigegeben werden.
Hinweis: Von bereits 14 im September auf behördliche Anweisung gestohlenen Hunden fehlen noch immer 4.

5 davon wurden nach Deutschland vermittelt, ohne dass der deutsche Verein wusste, dass sie zuvor gestohlen wurden. 5 von diesen Hunden mussten von Žarkovica freigekauft werden.

Der Präsidentin vom Tierheim Žarkovica, Anica Sambrailo, wurde der Zugang zur  Pressekonferenz, bei der es um den Neubau des Tierheims ging, verwehrt.

„Our Protest in Zagreb was very good. Many Croatian associations joined us because animal welfare in Croatia must change. Our voice was heard, but as we live in a strange country, we did not get any answer from the Ministry of Agriculture.
But, for us that is normal, specially when they recognize that we are right.
The City council of Dubrovnik voted that all dogs must be returned to the owner (and that is the Shelter of Zarkovica, us!), that all documents have to be public and that the City of Dubrovnik must build a new shelter for all dogs.
As the Mayor Vlahušić is probably spending his holidays somewhere in the snow, Deputy Mayor, Mr.Raguž, and Director of Health, Mr. Kunica, said during a press conference no word about returning the dogs to our shelter. They are still talking about building a new shelter, for a change, they tell they will make one for 350 dogs but not right away, for the start a shelter for 100 to 150 dogs will be enough and in the second phase of the project they will finish the shelter for the rest of the dogs???

Their plan that volunteers will not be allowed to enter the shelter is still their wish. As owners of the stolen dogs, we had 15 days to come to the shelters and take them away, so we could not wait for the City to do so. Some of the dogs are still there and we hope that they will also be back soon. The problem is, that the City of Dubrovnik does not want them back on Žarkovica, and we had again a police visit because they wanted to see if we are bringing them back.
Our lawyer is working hard to make criminal charges to the court for all institutions involved in this terrible event. So, it looks, like we are still at the beginning.

I feel so stupid when I have to explain all this to you. But we live every day with corruption, dirty politics and illegal actions.
Your support is still needed: With writing E-Mails, asking questions, contacting some „bigger people“ abroad, Croatian Embassy representatives in EU parliament, and so on.

I just want to add that some of the dogs who are back to our shelter were in very bad condition. Thin, scared and hungry. 3 of them were adopted directly from the kill shelters and we can only hope that more of them will soon be also adopted, that is the only place where they can be safe for now.

I am really sad. And very angry! And I am ashamed to live in a country like Croatia.

But I will not give up. We will not give up!“
