Ayurveda treatments, serenity, the sound of the endless waves touching the shore and the popular Varkala beach nearby, that’s what Krishnatheeram Beach Resort is all alike. Set on the majestic north cliff at Varkala it is a great holiday destination for body, mind and soul. Situated only about one hour from Trivandrum airport it is also an easy destination for some relaxing days before you fly home. So did I. Set on the coast line of the Arabian Sea you can find only here laterite cliffs hugging the shores of the ocean.
At the resort there are cottages with thatched roof in traditional Kerala style, a lovely pool with a superb view to the ocean and tall coconut palm trees. In combination you can book an Ayurveda treatment package with medical consultation. Twice a day Yoga Master Sunil Kumar teaches Yoga on a platform with the perfect sea view. „We have many clients from central Europe“, says Resort Manager Subin George. „We would like to expand our destination also to US and Australian guests.“
Dr. P. J. Ajeeb is ayurvedic doctor at Krishnatheeram. „I wanted to become a healer. Therefore I studied 6 years at Kerala University.“ His patients are coming from all over the world. „During my study and even now I get connected with many healers for exchange and learning new techniques.“ He could even help an European woman with glaucoma therapy. „She was very happy when she could stop her daily eye drops. Now she continues with Ayurvedic medicine and she is fine.“.
Ayurveda comprises the science of life and is perhaps the oldest established system of medicine to the world. It is not merely a health faculty dealing with rejuvenation therapy but also focuses on prevention and rejuvenation of the body, mind and soul. „And Kerala is the land of Ayurveda“, adds Subin George. Indeed it is said by specialists that Ayurveda has the knowledge and methodologies to provide health care throughout the course of one’s life.
Sieht das toll aus !
Ja, war es auch, liebe Donna. Ich erinnere mich heute noch sehr gerne!
