I’m posting from Istanbul, Turkey where I’m on a stopover from Afghanistan. I am staying with my dear friend Vivian, a Canadian, who lives in Istanbul already several years.
It’s a bit of a dream come true, I am staying in her apartment right on the Bosphorus river. The place is on the European side – and across from us, we can see Asia. Isn’t that incredible?! Istanbul straddles two continents. This is such an exciting city, full of culture and vibrance, so modern yet bursting with unique history.
So it’s another one of those „pinch me“ experiences – which are sometimes hard to take in.
And it was high during my trip around Afghanistan. Thankfully I am taking a bit of an exhalation, catching some sun and relaxing prior to fly home. I can wear „normal“ clothes again, without covering my hairs under a scarf as I did in Afghanistan out of respect for the people. And, there’s still loads to share in the coming weeks!
I remember wehen I was in Istanbul, 3 years ago. It was fantastic and I’ve seen so many beautiful places with my turkish friends who invited me!
Have für, Sabine!! 😊
Fun….. Not für, lol 😀
Tessekür ederim und Gülle Gülle, liebe Sabine
